Abstract

The seventeen chapters in this volume focus on research, classroom teaching practices and further initiatives within the area of reading in English as a Foreign Language. The chapters are divided into the following sections: - Reading in EFL: A Focus on the Learner - Reading in EFL: A Focus on the Classroom - Reading in EFL: A Broader Perspective The book makes a significant contribution to the growing body of research in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, with a clear focus on reading in different countries and educational contexts. The chapters presented in this book deal with a wide range of issues in learning, teaching, assessment and policy connected to foreign language reading development in primary and secondary schools, communities and institutes of higher education.
