Abstract

This paper describes the design and characterization of a novel planetary transmission that can be used to adjust the transmission ratio according to the externally applied load. A basic modeling has been formulated to characterize both its design and operation. A detailed 3D CAD model has been proposed in order to investigate the operation feasibility of the proposed design solution. A proper dynamic model has been developed within MSC ADAMS software. Simulation tests have been carried out and results are discussed to validate the proposed design solution.
