Abstract

This work is nominated for the inaugural Derwent Art Prize for works in pencil and included in the exhibition of shortlisted works.

The exhibition takes place at the Mall Galleries in London, opening 16th September 2013.

Ulysses (Final Page) Graphite 33 x 48cm The drawing is part of a series based on Homer’s Odyssey that developed from research into the text, challenging our assumptions about how we ‘know’ a text. This is a pencil drawing of a water- marked page from the Penelope section of my well-travelled copy of James Joyce’s Ulysses.
