You are my favourite chair: sound production of 35mm short film

Wright constructed the entire soundtrack, there being no usable production sound due to location problems. The reconstructed 5.1 surround sound design examines the dynamics of scale using microsonic recordings and acousmatic sound to explore the geography of a larger cinematic space, avoiding the convention of encoded screen information normally supplied by dialogue to create an international screen language in an arbitrary imagined location.

This highly stylised but improvised work focuses on an odd couple checking into a hotel. They flit between loving and abusing each other as their bodies appear to deteriorate and self-destruct.
