Abstract
Reading of the poem 'Incident At St. Kilda' at the sold out live music gig by folk band Garefowl. The event was part of the Talking Gigs programme.

The poem 'Incident At St. Kilda' was based on a true life account of the killing of the last great auk on the Hebridean island of St. Kilda. The band Garefowl, performing at The Drama Studio, Sheffield, for Talking Gigs, invited Carolyn Waudby to read the poem as part of the event. A member of the band is a direct descendant of one of the men who killed the last great auk on St. Kilda in the 19th century. The Drama Studio, Sheffield, was full to capacity with an audience of 500.
