What is knowledge mobilisation? Sense making and creating stories with KM

HUDSON, Kristian, BAXTER, Helen and LANGLEY, Joe (2024). What is knowledge mobilisation? Sense making and creating stories with KM. [Video] [Video]

Abstract
I had the pleasure of speaking to Joe Langley and Helen Baxter who both held and completed Knowledge Mobilisation Fellowships with the National Institute for Health Research in the UK. I wanted to answer the question: What is knowledge mobilisation? And how does it work? Joe and Helen answer this and then discuss how to actually carry out KM with plenty of examples. Helen now works with the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) West at the University of Bristol. Joe is a design engineer and academic researcher based at Sheffield Hallam University with a group for Lab4Living. Set up in 2008 it involves artists and design engineers working with researchers. They use a lot of creative and participatory methods like co-design. Joe and Helen answer this in detail. The Essential Implementation Podcast is dedicated to bridging implementation research to practical settings in the NHS, schools, communities and the government.
