Abstract

The fourth exercise at the West Yorkshire Police (WYP) Carr Gate Complex in Wakefield, UK, represented the final stage of the exercise programme that has been an integral part of the development of the ATHENA system. The aims of the programme as a whole included carrying out a rigorous examination of the system at key stages of its development and maximising its potential, whilst ensuring that the focus on user needs and legal and ethical compliance was maintained. Another key aim from the outset was to derive as much feedback as possible from all stakeholders involved in the exercises and to deploy the system in as many different environments as was practicable.
