Demoralization and Contemporary English Antisemitism.

This selected conference paper posits the view that there are currently two prominent strains of anti-Semitism in England: Modern anti-Semitism, which has been prevalent in England since the readmission of Jews in 1656, and contemporary or postmodern anti-Semitism, which only emerged as a consequence of the Six-Day War in 1967 but which has had hegemonic status in England since the 1990s. The paper examines both varieties, with their distinct characteristics, and looks at the way they manifest themselves concurrently in England.
