Abstract

Increasing absorption bistability is studied under realistic conditions with a many-body approach for nonlinear optical absorption in semiconductor quantum wells, combining Coulomb and band structure engineering effects. The theory predicts carrier induced all-optical increasing absorption bistability for low temperatures.
