Abstract

The development of the ATHENA system has been supported by the implementation of a number of live play exercises that have been designed to test the different facets of ATHENA, including the mobile application and the Crisis Command and Control Intelligence Dashboard. This chapter reports on the set-up and outcomes of the three primary ATHENA exercises held in Izmir, Turkey and Ljubljana, Slovenia. These exercises have, along with the technology employed, become progressively more complex, ensuring that the ATHENA system has been robustly tested to ensure it is fit for purpose.
