Abstract
The International Seminar on Art and Nature considers the ways in which contemporary man is related to the natural world. Art, as a form of sensitive knowledge, offers a contribution to the awareness of the possibilities and difficulties of man's relationship with the environment. In today's techno-scientific context, art incorporates science and its procedures, producing images of the world contaminated by cultural perceptions, media and science. The main goal of this seminar was to discuss the nature of this paradigm. Two films by Chloe Brown were included in the film screening of artist's films: 'Sticky Knots' and 'The Hum'. Curated by Dr. Jessica Ullrich of Universität der Künste Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts), and Professor Hugo Fortes at the Universidade de São Paulo the film screening formed a central focus for the seminar.
