Abstract
Aerodynamic characteristics of a velomobile, a fully-fairly recumbent bicycle, were studied in wind tunnel experiments and CFD simulations. The investigations address the drag, the surface pressure distribution, and the flow field around and past the velomobile. The results indicate interesting aerodynamic phenomena such as a distinctive pressure recovery resulting in a positive rear pressure and a sail effect at larger yaw angles.
