Healthy, Resilient Cities

DE LEEUW, Evelyne and GREEN, Geoff (2025). Healthy, Resilient Cities. In: CABI Climate Change Series. CABI, 99-114. [Book Section]

Abstract
Cities are human settings that connect with the natural environment in unique ways, mediated by the social contexts of experience. They are also impacted by history, policy and governance and importantly are human adaptations to a myriad of factors. A question of importance is how city resilience might be conceived and implemented. This chapter will connect the human experience with the built and natural environment in a multidisciplinary appraisal of sustainability and resilience in the face of the climate change and weather variability.
