    Abstract

    This presentation was delivered at Across Continents: adventures in and beyond contemporary jewellery. It focused on key projects within Hanson's research and practice that have been driven by the application of material and making as an agent for change. It highlighted the value of interdisciplinary work that engages with participatory action research methods, using design thinking through making as a catalyst to enable social, cultural and economic empowerment.
