Abstract
Brief Background: 'Small Changes' is a psycho-social weight management intervention programme. This type of intervention typically delivers dietary and physical activity advice in combination with awareness raising activities and self-selected goal setting (Blissimer et al., 2006; Palmeira et al., 2007). 'Small Changes' uses a 12-week protocol and is currently in its second year of delivery. Volunteers were recruited via advertisements positioned around Sheffield Hallam University, in the Sheffield Star and Sheffield Telegraph Newspapers, on the local radio station Hallam FM and in various department stores throughout the city centre.
