Abstract
To coincide with the Cambridge Literary Festival The Reading Room is an investigation into the creative possibility of the book. What can an artist make of the white space of the page, the text as site of intervention, typography as an instrument of re-imagination?
Bringing together artists from a diverse range of disciplines The Reading Room revealws a wealth of experimentation and playful reimaginings of what the book can be.

Holidays with Freud
Since 2006 Sharon Kivland has been reconstructing the holidays of Sigmund Freud. Her holidays—Freud’s holidays—have led her to dream of Rome, to Trieste, to Athens, and to the forgetting of a foreign name in several locations when her holiday plans came to very little. There have been other ports of call en route and many digressions.
