Abstract: | An artist's book produced for the AMBruno project 'Black Circle', for the London Art Book Fair, Whitechapel Gallery, London, 2012 Usually a beauty spot is a lesion caused by a melanocycotic nevus, but sometimes it is applied as a ‘mouche’ in velvet or silk or as makeup. Sharon Kivland has selected twenty-one images from her collection of photographs of women, adding a inked beauty spot (and a strange white dot to the pupils of the eyes). The photographs date from different epochs, and this is clear in the printing quality of each image. |
