Abstract
This invited chapter examines the importance of the outdoors in promoting health and well-being in people with dementia. Following an overview of the research I draw on a series of exampls and case studies which demonstrate the role that creativity plays in enabling people living in care homes to access outdoor spaces. Suggestions for ways of implementing these in practice are given.
