This chapter is designed to give you a critical insight into the way sport and physical activity is used to improve community cohesion. 'Bringing communities together' is advocated as a key advantage of sport and physical activity schemes, however, this is often accepted uncritically. The aim of this chapter is to offer a balanced view of the possibilities and limitations of sport and physical activity being used for social inclusion purposes.
