To celebrate this distinctive feature of the Tour’s heritage, contemporary artists, designers and creatives from across the region and around the globe were invited to design their own tribute to the ‘Maillot Jaune’ in the form of a yellow T shirt.
Yorkshire in Yellow will see over 60 t-shirt designs, which range from simple drawings to complex illustrations, suspended from the ceiling of the Millennium Gallery’s main thoroughfare. The display will feature designs from a diverse range of local artists and designers, including Pete McKee, The Designers Republic, Faunagraphic, Studio Binky, Justin Jones, TADO and many more Yorkshire in Yellow will also include contributions from a number of acclaimed national and international designers, including co-creator of the UK’s iconic motorway signage Margaret Calvert, Dutch design great Wim Crouwel, France’s M/M Paris and Barcelona’s Hey Studio.
