Abstract
<p>Sheffield Design Week Conference 2015. Thursday 18th June, Pennine Lecture Theatre, Sheffield Institute of Arts. Section hosts/Curators for a section of the conference based around the idea of Visual Communication being a transformative force, in changing behaviour and public spaces.</p> <p>Speakers were chosen to support and demonstrate this idea.<ul> <li><b>Andy Altman – Founder Why Not Associates. </b> Andy was chosen to speak about large scale environmental and public artworks produced by the design studio and in particular the Comedy Carpet produced for Blackpool sea front.</ul> <li><b>Danny Antrobus – Better With Data. >/b> Danny was chosen to talk about how making data as other formats and objects can help better communicate the concern or intention the data may raise. He was asked to focus on the Air Quality Group projects including working with Data </li> <b>Illustrator Stefanie Posavec and Miriam Quick. <b>These projects produced jewellery created with air quality data.</li></ul></p>
