Abstract

The Government's intention to devolve power from Westminster to an elected Scottish Parliament, with an accountable executive, will give the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council increased importance within the United Kingdom. Indeed some at a recent Statute Law Society conference , considered it is set to become a "proto-constitutional court". This article outlines the changes ahead and briefly describes the work currently performed by the Judicial Committee.
